Thrust vector control is a technique that can be used to greatly improve the maneuverability of military fighter aircraft. It consists of using a set of vanes in the exit of a jet engine to deflect the exhaust gases as shown in Fig. P5.76.

(a) Determine the pitching moment (the moment tending to rotate the nose of the aircraft up) about the aircraft's mass center (cg) for the conditions indicated in the figure.
