This paper is asking you to argue a solution to a problem related to food in 4-6 pages. The issue should be controversial, arguable, something you know about, something you can do credible research on, and something you care about. Keep in mind that your audience will be Dr. Glover and your peers. Once you have your topic, you need to begin doing research that supports your position on the topic as well as the counterargument. After the research is secured, you need to establish a thesis statement and begin your Annotated Bibliography.
An outline for this paper might include:

Your most plausible reasons and support (research)
Your counter argument with refutation (research)

In one paragraph explain what you will be writing about (include background information that establishes the problem, what you will/have researched that will serve as solutions, and a working thesis statement.
Introduction
In multiple paragraphs (might be a page and a half) you will introduce the necessary background that establishes the problem your paper will address. You will also include, the last sentence, which is your thesis. This sentence asserts an arguable claim (problem) plus the reasons (solutions you will offer in the paper). Your paper follows the thesis from this point forward.
What is an annotated bibliography?
• Summarizes: What are the main arguments? What is the point of this book or article? What topics are covered? If someone asked what this article/book is about, what would you say?
• Assesses: After summarizing a source, it is helpful to evaluate it. Is it a useful source? How does it compare with other sources in your bibliography? Is the information and the author(s) credible? Is it this source biased or objective?
• Reflects: Once you've summarized and assessed a source, you need to ask how itsupports your research. Was this source helpful to you? How does it help you shape your argument? Where will you use this source in your paper?
