There is always light at the end of the tunnel no matter what the situation may be, always hold your head up high, and think positive, do not be pessimistic, be optimistic. "Pursuit of Happiness is a movie based on real life events, from being unemployed, low wages, marital problems, custody and owing back taxes to the IRS. Chris Gardner and his son Christopher Jr.'s went from being homelessness, to becoming a successful stockbroker. This compelling movie reaches the hearts of many, who may be in a similar situation, and encourages them not to give up no matter how hard it becomes.
The movie "Pursuit of Happyness", was released in the United States in English on December 15 2006 its running time is 117 minutes. Will Smith plays the part as Chris Gardner and his son Jaden Smith plays the part as Christopher Jr., Thandie Newton plays the part as Christopher Gardner's wife Linda Gardner. Christopher Gardner went from poverty to becoming a successful stock broker. His resilience led him eventually out of poverty.
In evaluating the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness", I encourage my audience to view it because it is based on real life events; it showed how Christopher Gardner persevered his way to fulfilling his dream of providing for his family. Every time he failed he picked himself up despite the many setbacks that occurred in his life like his bank account being frozen and his wife leaving him. Christopher Jr. went along with the flow and still told jokes, even when they slept in the bathroom by the subway station they played make belief. "Pursuit of Happyness", not only encourages others who are homeless or having hard times but, also enlightens society to be more conscious and empathetic of those who are homeless and disadvantaged.
In "Pursuit of Happyness", Chris Gardner went from selling bone scanners in San Francisco to becoming a successful stock broker. Despite of walking through many rocky roads, at the end he triumphed. He was evicted for non-payment of rent; fell behind on his payments for childcare; facing humiliation by standing in long lines with his son for that nights shelter. These events are the reality of what's happening in society today.
Many people in society are unaware about what the homeless have to endure on a daily bases. Some people also lack the empathy toward those who are homeless or disadvantaged. "Pursuit of Happyness", brings awareness of the struggles they face. Hopefully this movie has created a chain reaction that has provided more support groups, jobs, and other resources toward the homeless.
Many people think that the homeless are destined to stay in the situation they are in, but not all homeless plan to stay that way. The movie "Pursuit of Happyness", is an inspiring drama that has hopefully reached the hearts of everyone. If you have not watched it I encourage you to do so. Just remember that no matter what the situation may be there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, never give up on what you want to pursue, keep striving for bigger and better things and hold your head up high like Chris Gardner did.
