There are three different types of tide cycles in the oceans. Diurnal which is one high and one low tide a day. Semi-diurnal which is two low and two high tides daily. Mixed tides, two highs and two low a day characterized by significant disparity between successive tides. Describe a tidal cycle of an area of your choice. for example, the bay of fundy, located in Canada has a semi-diurnal cycle where 160 billion tons flow in and out of the bay during one tidal cycle. It has the highest tidal range in the world, where changes can range from 47.5-53.5 ft. between tides.
