Bus riders complain that the number of minutes a certain bus is late has been increasing over time. Every Monday morning for seventeen weeks, they have logged the late time with the following results:
1, 5, 4, 9, 11, 10, 6, 7, 2, 1, 5, 3, 5, 12, 13, 8, 11
The bus company says that the sequence of late times is completely random. Use the runs test at α = 5% to test the randomness of the sequence with regard to times greater than & less than the median late time.
NOTE: Values that are exactly equal to the median do not constitute the end of a run. They are simply disregarded.
