Comparison between Battles

There are various aspects that make War similar. War is conduced to achieve influence and prestige. Caesar's in his chronicles Gallic Wars acknowledged the role of war in expansion. The meeting battle took place in Gaul and Britain.

The first battle was between the Helvetii and the Germans in which the Roman army led by Caesar overcame the enemies and assumed control of the land. The following year in 57 B.C. Caesar fights the Belgae in the northern parts of Gaul.

That operation extended the Rome's influence. Whenever battle was won, the people would come together and celebrate. As per the literature, Caesar's triumph in the war prompted the Senate to acknowledge the achievements by dedicating 15 days of Thanksgiving.

The goals of War are the same to conquer the enemies. In his book, The History of Rome, Titus talks about the people Gaul and how they perpetrated an attack on Rome. They organized a military march after a disagreement arose between them. They brought their soldiers and conquered most of the towns in Rome.

Their loud war music scared most of the inhabitants causing panic and confusion. Ultimately, Gaul was silenced by the Romans but not after a series of major battles , all that was aimed at controlling Rome.

During Wars, soldiers would fight one another and attack the enemy's strategic points. In both articles, Rome a strategic point was under attacks. In the first encounters Gallic Wars, Rome faced attacks from the Germans after Caesar, and his men attacked Helvetii.

In the second article, History of Rome, the City of Rome was under attack from the army of Gaul. In spite of everything, in both occasions, the city of Rome survived the attacks. In both topics, the essence of the war was to extend the Roman influence to new territories.

In contrast

On the contrary, Wars might differ depending with the enemy. In the Gallic War, it was the Roman Army, under the leadership of Julius Caesar that initiated the attack on the Gauls.

The attack was well orchestrated and coordinated by Caesar given that he was a strategic soldier. In the History of Rome, things were different. It was the Gauls that carried out the attacks on the Romans. They marched through cities such as Citadel as they advanced towards the City of Rome.

To sum up, War is similar if the objectives are the same. All the same, it differs if the enemies and the form of attack are different. The two articles revealthat the two Wars sought similar goals. Nonetheless, the Wars were different based on the duration and the method of combat.
