Social Media Plan

HEAR-U-CAN IS THE MADE UP COMPANY FOR THIS PROJECT THE COMPETITORS WHO ARE BEING COMPARED AND RESEARCH ARE AS FOLLOWS:

For this module, we''ll be fleshing out your work from previous weeks to complete a rough draft of your final project. You have already identified your topic and the social media choices for your project, and done research on comparable brands or sites.

Now it''s time to get it all ready. This week, you should spend more time researching comparable options on your social media choices. Then it''s time to put it together!

First, you should put together your overview of the project. This starts with the description of your business or brand. Write about what it is and what you want for it, and add the research you have found on comparable businesses or brands. Then what are the goals you have for the business or brand? What are your general goals with social media for it? What audience are you aiming to reach?

Now on to the social media aspect of the project. If you have a real business, brand, or site to work on, you can start by putting the site profiles into the 4 social media sites you''ve chosen (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Screenshots will work for these that you have really made. If you don''t really have a business or brand, you do not need to create faux profiles. However, you should write the information you would include in your profile for each one.

Then, for each social media site, write about your goal for that site, how you will accomplish them, and some ideas for posts or pins. Who is your audience? When and where can you best reach them? How can you really use social media to work for you?

This project should have at least 1-2 pages for your overview and then approximately 1-2 pages per social media site. So the draft will be 5 - 10 pages long.

TOPIC AND BRAND

- Even though Hear-U-Can needs to expand their social media and online presence in order to keep up with others in the industry.
- On top of that, the FDA is trying to pass a bill that allows for the sale of over the counter hearing aids that would eliminate the need for professional hearing dispensers.
- Hear-U-Can 's social media presence and engagement is crucial to establish before the OTC hearing aids hit the market and the internet is flooded with advertising for products and online hearing tests.
- Hear-U-Can has recently switched to advertising on social media in order to get the attention of the younger crowd.
- Because the younger generation has responded well to social media and also responding to surveys and polls that Hear-U-Can posts on their social media sites.
- Another example that shows that Hear-U-Can has used direct mail in the past to market to the older generations but adding the use of social media has helped to open the door for the new hearing aid technology.
- The most important reason Hear-U-Can has recently switched to advertising on social media in order to get the attention of the younger crowd.

SIMILAR BRANDS

Hear-U-Can is a hearing aid company that manufactures sells and services their products in Hear-U-Can clinics all over the country. The hearing aid industry is a very small, niche community with only about 6 other manufacturers, with only 2 of them selling and servicing products in self branded clinics.

The main competitor in the industry is Starkey and Miracle-Ear, they manufacture and wholesale their hearing devices and they are also based out of Minnesota like Hear-U-Can is. They have recently began to have a strong social media presence because they are trying to promote their online self hearing tests in hopes of bringing customers into their office, once they realize they have a hearing loss. Hear-U-Can's goal is to stay with Starkey and Miracle-Ear's online presence step by step and follow what works for them and learn from their mistakes; even though Hear-U-Can may be a little behind in the game but at least it can save money in the end.
