My two sources develop the base line of how music effects our lives, our brains, and our personalities. They are both very similar in how they discuss the emotional arousal of both joy and sadness that music produces. The first article entails how music allows the mind to wander and develop a type of "daydream" affect on the listener. With either sad or happy music being played, individuals were examined on their responses and as it states in the article "The results are discussed with regard to the interplay of general and personality-specific processes" or as I would have called it "traits". Personality traits are talked about later in the article.

The second article talks about how participants in a study were selected to interpret random excerpts of popular music and were rated on how nostalgic each song made them feel. I found this very interesting to read because it explained how in depth peoples interpretations in music affected their way of thinking and interacting with others. We don't truly understand how powerful music can be in our lives and how it can play a role in how we talk and express our thoughts to people we see each and every day, without even thinking about it.

Charts and statistics are shown in each article and both are pulled from scholarly sources. I would say both articles go into a great amount of detail and am glad I came across them. The audiences for both articles are mainly for people of interest and psychological educators.
