Research Skills Assessment Brief

Word Limit: 2,500 words.

Research Proposal - In this assignment, you must develop your Literature Review into a detailed research proposal by narrowing the focus of your and background research. Continue your investigation into the topic in your Literature Review. You will be given written feedback about your Literature Review and Conceptual Model; use this to improve and re-write it for this assignment. You should also refine and adjust your previously proposed research question(s). You must show your research design and method relevant to each research question to be feasible within a specific time frame. The research design has to do with your response to existing-research and/or theory:-what specific body of work does your research respond to and build on? Why? Are you using an existing theory to frame and plan your analysis? Explain how you will do this in detail.

Structure for Writing Assignment: Research Proposal (2,500 words)

• Title Page with the title of your essay, relevant image, your name, student number, the title of your degree and pathway, the date and your word count.

• Abstract (summary of your essay: 150 words)

• Table of contents with page numbers

• Introduction/Research background

• Research motivations

• Research gap and the significance of the research

• Research purpose and research questions

• Literature review

• Development of a conceptual framework

• Research design and mettrodolog

• Research ethics

• Data analysis

• Limitations

• Timetable (Gantt chart)

The following is excluded from the word count:

• References, following the Harvard Referencing System

• Appendices (if appropriate)

• List of figures/charts/tables/images (these must also include a number, title and source in the body of the essay).
