8) Thind was a graduate of Punjab University, immigrated to the US in 1913, served in the US army, and applied for citizenship in 1920. The court held in United States v. Bhagat Singh Thind that Asian Indians were ineligible for naturalization. However, Thind was actually Caucasion (and should have been approved from the Ozawa case).
