The five cardinal virtues of Confucianism are; Jen, Yi, Li, Chih, and Hsin. Jen means benevolence and describe as a feeling sympathy for others and helping them even when there is no specific obligation. Also, there are five qualities of Jen, according to Confucius, are "politeness, liberality, good faith, diligence, generosity". Next, Yi means duty and describe as a feeling shame after a wrong action in situations where rules are clearly established. Next, Li means manner and describe as a showing propriety and decorum, especially in deference to others. Then, Chih means wisdom and describe as a having a sense of night and wrong, both in practical, everyday matters and in moral questions. Lastly, Hsin means good faith and describe as being trustworthy and telling the truth.The difference between Confucian teaching and Daoist thinking is that Confucianism is a philosophy that is more landed here on Earth because of its connection to the immediate society. However, Daoist is more encompassing at it is relating to man's connection to the entire universe.  The Confucianism makes the person relate to his immediate external environment to attain self-improvement while Daoist makes the person connect to his inner self.

According to "The Story of Ying-Ying", both of the main characters tries to assert that his or her viewpoint is correct, and neither of them are succeeds. Chang, who meets the lovely Yingying, who is a maiden that comes from a wealthy family and Chang, on the other hand, tried to save Yingying' family from marauding soldiers. At the beginning of the story, Chang falling in love with Yingying at the first sight and want to married her. So he tries to write many love poems to Yingying but she was not in love at the first time, she was very hesitant. But, after giving in and wanting it to work, Chang have to leave for the capital. After a few years, Chang receives a love letter from Yingying. But, he does not know whether he should be happy or sad for the letter he had received from her while taking his examination in the capital. After failing too many exams, Chang realizes that Yingying is his weakness and the only way to cope with the whole situation as to inform his friends that he had and affair; this let him free himself from the curse-like love he had for Yingying. Because he knew from the beginning of the relationship, she was too good to be true. On the other hand, Yingying is a beautiful young woman and had many talents. Her love for Chang was very deep and truth. AfterChang was broken up with her, she knew she should not love someone such as him, but she did what she felt was right, and follow her heart. However, in the end, she received an unfaithful love. After a year later, Chang comes back and visit Yingying, but she refuses to see him. Because Yingying believes, she has no reason to see him anymore, and she knows that she has no power over him. Therefore, there is no point in seeing Chang, the man she had loved so much, not so long ago.

In the "Diary of a Madman", Lu Xun described himself as a madman, who was confused and scared by the fear that everyone was peeking at him and having the cannibalism thoughts on him. While reading the Chinese history, Lu Xun began to see the world "Eat People!" between the lines. And he claimed the corruption and the cannibalism have not change for many years. Also, he found that the whole volume of the history book was talking about nothing but cannibalism. Lu Xun tried to reveal that this cruel practice was still common in uncivilized society. Then he describes the people as an exploit, harm and even kills each other with no hesitation. He also described people's as cold-blooded and ruthless heart throughout the story. However, Lu Xun used this diary to attach the Chinese conservative mind and their ignorance to the important of making a change to the society. Therefore, he wrote this story to save the country with the theme that Chinese people had to make a change of the weak and corrupted government. And he stating that history is based on what is happening now. However, those interpretations can be wrong. He wants to change this by getting rid of cannibalism(feudalism) and start to "save the children."
