Eastman marketed with the slogan "You push the button, we do the rest." As the poet Oliver Wendell Holmes observed, the camera became not just "the mirror of reality," but "the mirror with a memory."

Examine the image below and think about it in the context of early twentieth-century America. Regarding that period in American history, would you agree or disagree with the image below being a "mirror of reality?"
