Presentation Problem

You will demonstrate your ability to ‘probe' (identify and evaluate) appropriate training assessment approaches for common organizational needs (challenges / problems) and ‘present' your findings using a web-based presentation technology. Examples of web-based presentation tools include Prezi, PowToons, Padlet, Voicethread, and others. You will be assigned a presentation tool by your Instructor and be expected to demonstrate a basic level of its use. Most web-based presentation tools require minimal technology skill and offer simple, brief tutorials.

1. 1. Learn the Presentation Tool

Log into the website and complete your free registration. Once registered, familiarize yourself with the presentation tool. Some tools allow you to type text and upload images, video, and animation features. Others tools allow you to record your voice while showing the images. Most likely, there is an online tutorial or examples of ‘how to' use the various functions of the tool.

1. 2. Upload Images / Video / Animation

Once you have learned the basics, upload images, video, and/or create animation which clearly represents a common organizational problem (need) that would be addressed through training. Examples may stem from issues of performance, low morale, teamwork, goal clarity, communication, leadership, conflict resolution, or any number of issues found within organizations-that relate directly to a need for training.

1. 3. Provide Content

Using text or voice recording (depending on your assigned technology), provide 200 - 250 words, answering the following questions:

• What is the common organization problem (need) you are presenting?

• How do your uploaded images, video, and/or animation represent your stated need? Create a short scenario giving an example of this problem in the workplace. You may make up the scene, characters, etc., using your images / animation. Images may be downloaded to your computer or device through popular sites like Google or Bing.

• What assessment (measurement), model, or even theory, might a trainer use to help organizational members identify this need?

o Where did you get the information for this assessment, model, or theory? This will require some research. Using scholarly / academic sources (e.g., EbscoHost, Academic Search Premier) will give your presentation more credibility than citing from ‘Consultant' web sites that are designed to sell a product or service. Cite this source at the end of your presentation.

Submitting Your Presentation

When finished, you will submit a web link to your presentation into Project Team's Locker in Pilot.

• Choose ‘Communications', then choose ‘Groups', then under Locker, click 'Group Files'
• Click the blue hyperlink, 'Presentation Probes' in your Team's list of files
• At the top of the page, then click 'New File'
• In the 'Edit Contents' box, paste the link to your presentation (prezi, powtoons, voicethread, or padlet)

If you make changes to your Presentation, there is NO need to create a new file in Pilot Lockers -- the link should always remain the same.
