In order to understand how we perceive motion imagine how it feels to be on a train that has begun moving out of the station while the train on the nearby track remains stationary. If your train does not lurch as it moves, you might think at first that the other train is moving. Sometimes, you may be confused as to which train is moving. In order to be sure about the movement of your train, you look for objects you know are stable, such as the platform, or signboards.
