Another group of influential people were those of the Carolingian culture, who helped shape Europe into the unified nation we see today.

1. Who was Charlemagne? What was the Carolingian Renaissance? How did the Carolingian Empire reform Europe?

2. If not for Charlemagne's leadership what would have happened to Europe? What great force was he fighting?
