In your opinion, is his transformation more or less authenitically "Islamic"? Justify your answer with specific examples of how the transformation ism is not "Islamic".

2. As discussed in class Salafism and Waltabism have points of divergence from Sunni Islam. What are the points of differentiation? Use specific example of Salafism, Wahabism, and points of discussion from class regarding Sunni Islam to discussion the differences.

3. Descithe and discuss the emergence of Sufism. comparing and contrasting it to other forms of Islamic practice. Identify two Sufi orders and the leaders associated with them from class discussion. What are their beliefs and practices?

Part 2-

1. In "An Introduction to Islam.- 4th Edition, Frederick Denny states, "The Qur'an continued to be the most authoritative source for Islamic doctrine and practice, but in many cases the hadiths confirmed, extended, elaborated, explained, and supplemented the revelation as a scriptural complement to the Qur'an.- Discuss hadith in relation to the Qur'an and tafsir. (For example. what is tafsir? What is hadith? How do they compare to the Qur'an in Sunni Islam? Discuss the development and compilation of tafsir and hadith.)

2. Explain how Muslim theologians discussed the problem of "the grave sinner," and its relationship to the question of the divine unity and justice of Allah. (For example: Provide the historical context out of which this question emerged; name and describe at least two of the different theological schools that emerged out of the posing of this question, and the differences between them., and discuss how the question of divine justice and divine unity arises out of these discussions.)

3) Discuss the sources of Islamic jurisprudence and how they are relevant to the schools of law. (For example: Name, define/explain what the sources of jurisprudence in Islamic law are. Name, define/describe the different Sunni schools of law; and explain how each school uses and relies on the different sources.)
