My Proposal to Research as a Cultural Anthropologist:

I would propose that research is done on success, and how to enhance the educational experience that would help develop a well rounded individual to succeed in any culture of choice. Are our children prepared to exercise their freedom of choice? I do not think that they are, and I believe that there must be some sort of effort in our schools, and homes to expose them to many other cultures instead of forcing one on them and calling that the only means of success.

Success has to be looked at from all aspects of a culture from education, to economical situations, to social status, amongst other things of value in that culture. The perspective of the family that the child is raised in plays a factor in whether the child is encouraged to reach a higher level of success in their own culture or given a fair opportunity to extend beyond that cultural barrier. With the proposed research efforts in request of a more expansive cultural experience for children in their learning environments is a fair way to discover universal success for the generation of the future.

Methods of research:

What is the Method to My Madness, Ethnology or Ethnography? I choose qualitative ethnological inquiry, simply because it fits my investigative, yet private personality. Although I believe an ethnographical point-of-view might deem a better outlook on the cultural emphasis of success, my personality might be better suited for an ethnological based research, because it may take more time than I have to do participant observation of each culture that was included in my study, like the lifelong work of Bronislaw Malinowski (Nowak & Laird, Ethnogrophy: Doing Field Work, 2010). I am a very detail oriented researcher and I like to take my time with observations, yet be able to gather my assessments outside of that atmosphere if needed, and freely move on to the next. Maybe I would benefit more if I hired a team to assist with the participant observation portion of the study, then fill me in towards the end with the journals, pictures, and literature, as well as audio and visual that allow me to see the culture in real time. I would then go in to participate as observer-interviewer using all the collected data to create a dialogue that would essentially fill in the blanks to complete
