Purpose:  Make a visual timeline displaying the evolution of our understanding of the atom.

A) The project will encompass all papers folded with and half inch longer each time it is folded so where it expands you could put the timeline date so when you flip open the prior sheet you see the name of scientist on top with which timeline dates. In another words papers will be 2 sided name and timeline dates on top and when it is open it will encompass the information listed below. Therefore all information will be printed towards the bottom of the paper as when it is folded that’s where it requires being. Since the papers have to be extended for each scientist or timeline the two side paper is larger and larger so you have plenty of room for illustration and summary.

B) Title on Folded Top Sheet-Atomic Theory Project

When you flip open:

1) On the top of each of the proceeding folded paper is Scientist name and timeline date. The entire scientist below should be comprised in this project.

a) Democritus
b) John Dalton
c) JJ Thomson
d) Ernest Rutherford
e) Neils Bohr
f) Irwin Schrödinger
g) Werner Heisenberg

2) Atomic timeline models must as well include as a minimum the given text or information:

a) Date of discovery
b) His/her ideas or concept of the atom (summarize and in bullet form)
c) A summarizing statement indicating his/her main contribution
d) Comprise illustrations (hand-drawn, picture or graphic art) of each scientist’s concept of an atom and short summary of scientist’s experiment.

3) Atomic timeline models should as well comprise an illustration (hand-drawn, picture or graphic art) and short summary of Rutherford’s gold foil experiment.
