Outlining your thoughts will help you to stay organized when writing and to "see" the flow of your paper. 

TIP: A formal outline can easily convert to a table of contents for your final paper. 

Compose a formal outline of your proposal topic and intended research methods. Remember to identify the statement of purpose.
