"The environmental justice movement has been called the combination at two of the greatest movements of the twentieth century, namely the civil rights movement and the environmental movement. Environmental justice stands for the proposition that all people have the right to clean air, clean water, and clean land, and that those potentially affected by environmental decisions should have a meaningful say in the process, regardless of race, income, or ethnicity."
