An unknown, compound X, shows a broad IR absorption band at 3200-3550 cm-1 but none in the 1620-1780 cm-1 region. It only contains only C,H, and O. A 116mg sample was treated with an excess of methylmagnesium bromide, producing 48.7ml of methane gas at 20 degrees C and 750mm Hg. The mass spectrum of X has its heaviest peak barely detectable at 116 m/z, and a fragment peak at 98 m/z. Use this information to determine the structure of X, showing your rationale, reactions, and any calculations.
