Type of jobs in the building industry

Through analysing different websites, it is clear that there are a lot of different jobs in the building industry and different courses available to get into these careers. This is highlighted in the following quote from the TAFEwebsite; "The building, construction and furnishing industries offer many career opportunities including self-employment and small-business development for workers with trade certificates. A significant new trend in these sectors is emerging technologies to challenge traditional methods. TAFE SA qualifications in these areas can lead to careers in many specialised building trades working on new and existing buildings. Graduates are able to pursue employment as sub-contractors, project builders, Work supervisors, designers and estimators." From comparing the Coursesavailable I decided to focus on exploring bricklaying and plumbing as I have had some experience of each through my doorways to construction course and feel that they suit my needs.

In comparison, findings suggest that plumbers work with gas which involves mounting and repairing heating and ventilation systems. General plumbers do a lot different work like drainage, metal roofing and gas fitting and they can also perform this other tasks like prepare or study plans and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems and materials needed
