Find the fugacity of a hard-shpere gas ( the van der Waals gas with the parameter a set to zero). In the expression for f which you obtain, use a power series expansion of the exponential function (to first order in the exponent) to show that the real/actual pressure is approximately the geometric mean of the idea gas pressure and the fugacity (and thus lies between the two)
