Here are importand instructions:

1. Use unreal conditional statements to make significant comments on eight articles from Los Angeles Times, (News from March 24). You will be imagining things that did not happen. Choose major or opinion articles-not, for example, traffic accidents.

2. Write eight short paragraphs. For each one.

a). Start with an excellent facatual main idea sentence reporting the actual news in the article. Provide enough information for me to judge the quality and validity of your conditional sentences. You may add a sentence or two if you think i'll need more information.

b). Then use an unreal conditional sentence to imagine a better outcome. (Use your powers of analysis, moral reasoning, and imagination to come up with hopes and dreams for better alternatives to the news reported.)

3. Altogether, you will use two each of the following combinations of tenses to make these comments: A. past + past B. past + present C. present + present D. present + past

4. Label each sentence type A,B,C or D

5. Example: If Richard Jadick weren't an unusually brave man, he would not have volunteered to go to Irag and wouldn't have succeeded in rescuing so many gravely wounded soldiers under frightening battle field conditions. D
