Week 3 Assignment
Your second speech assignment (either recorded or presented live) assignment is to prepare a 6-minute speech to persuade. Choose a topic you feel truly passionate about, like motivating people to donate clothes to a homeless shelter or volunteering at a local nursing home. If you choose a controversial topic, be sure to present both sides AND provide solid academic sources. In fact, a minimum of 4 academic sources is required for this assignment. Make sure you are developing a specific action that your audience can take (not just to think about something but to do something). The speech also requires a visual aid.

Keep in mind that a variety of sources will be worth a little more on your speech, so look in books, magazines, online library, brochures, interviews, videos, etc.
