Everyculture since the beginring of civilization has sought to understand the world through stories, stories which gave birth to Faith. The growth of theosophy, or the knowledge of belief, led to a fascinating idea: humans of every era and every region share a legacy of understanding and unity. Alone, or with a partner, I would like you to explore the following five themes as they express themselves in your chosen geopolitical/religious area.(norse culture)

1. Creation of Both the World & of Humanity

2. Concept of Good and Evil 'What societal values are taught and enforced?

3. Identities - Principal Gods, Creatures, Heroes, Saints, Prophets, etc. (5-7)

4. Flora and Fauna - Plants and Animals of Import

5. The Afterlife .- What happens at the point of Death and afterwards?

Your task is to prepare a 30 minute lesson on the beliefs of NORSE culture. Your presentation should be engaging, use multimedia, and clearly display your efforts and research. You may certainly devise an activity for the class, and creativity is a necessary component to success. How will you teach us about NORSE culture? Your method is of equal importance to your message, and you shall be evaluated on both the "what" and the "how" of your presentation. Resist the tendency to tell us everything about your region. Focus on the five themes, a few key ideas in NORSE culture, and your actual lesson. Is there a beginning activity to hook your audience? Do you introduce new concepts and ideas in an organised fashion? Finally, is there an activity which supports and reinforces the learning?

You must complete and distribute a one page typed and edited summary of your information to be used as a study sheet .

Your presentation may use Powerpoint.

Your mark shall be determined based on the following criteria.

Content:

1.Is the information relevant and the topic well-researched?

2.Do you penetrate the surface of your topic and force your audience to think?

3.Are handouts or notes grammatically correct and one page typed?

4.Have you analysed how the five themes occur in your chosen culture?
Did you include a proper MLA works cited of at least 3 sources (not including Wikipedia)?

Technique:

Does your presentation have a clear beginning, middle and ending?

Are you well paced in both speech and activity? Are your gestures appropriate and not distracting?

Do you maintain eye contact with your audience, and is your voice clear, loud, and meaningful?

Is it evident that you have rehearsed your presentation at least once?

Do you use multimedia? Do you engage your audience?

Overall

Was you presentation enjoyable? Was your presentation educational?

Do you use the 30 minutes well?

Are you able to respond well (intelligently and coherently) to questions?

If each question can be answered "Yes," you are guaranteed to receive an "A."

My Culture is NORSE.
