Every war leads the country to go through many changes. These changes can be the country's political views, finance, and living conditions. They can be short term, however sometimes they can be permanent. Just like World War I, World War II caused many changes in the Canadian Economy. In the book A Heritage of Hope and Struggle: Workers, Unions and Politics in Canada, 1930-1982, Robert Wayne and John Bullen go into further detail discussing the working conditions and how employees overcome their difficulties.

World War II opened people's eyes to many things, such as their working conditions. The employees were working very hard in very harsh environments while getting a very low salary. It took them a very long time until they decided to do something about it. Employees were allowed to strike whenever someone is taking their rights away from them, and this is exactly what the employees decided to do. They decided to come up with new rights for each, the employee and the employer while the employers had to come up with rules that the employees will have to obey. This led them to a common ground and improve the working conditions. Till this day, this strike has a huge impact on Canadian's working conditions. If not for it, there would still be very high unemployment rates and employees would still be working under very hard-working conditions.

In conclusion, the decision the employees decided to make has changed Canadian working conditions not only for themselves, but also for the generations after them. I think that people should always stand by their rights and not let anyone take them away from them. I am very happy with how the employees decided to go on a strike. Everyone deserves to work under safe conditions and get paid the salary they deserve. Coming to a common ground with the employer would be the best thing to do to achieve a very safe and healthy workplace.
