Essay on My Favorite Elements on British Culture

My favorite elements of British culture are the Globe Theatre, the Changing of the Guard, London Bridge, and eating Fish and Chips.  You can enjoy all these and know that Great Britain is a world power that has a lot to offer its' citizens.  This country is loaded with history and personal treasure.  England does have the Monarchy and the Parliament with its' House of Lords and the House of Commons, but I like this country for the tourist attractions along with what I mentioned above.  I like to watch people;    the different races, the different nationalities, and the different accents that you may hear.

England has the Royal Family, the Queen and the Princes and all related.  They may have their problems, but the countrymen know that their leader is always there.  People do look to the Queen for guidance even if it is only for the sense of security that gives them.  I like the Globe Theatre not just for its' past and Shakesphere, but also for all the festivals that still occur today.  You can still feel that Shakesphere is still there sharing his plays.  You feel you could be a peasant or a part of the aristocracy depending on where you decide to watch a program.  Another of my favorites is the Changing of the Guard.  I like the pageantry and I wonder how they stand so still.  I wonder what they are thinking when they see tourists approaching.  Still another favorite site is London Bridge and Big Ben and waiting for Big Ben to bong out the hours.  I also like to stand along the Thames just watching the boats and the ships coming and going and eating Fish and Chips wrapped traditionally in newspaper.  While eating my fish and chips I think of all the famous poets and writers ranging from John Donne to J.K. Rowling.

England is a good place to eat and to learn about your past and your present, to relax and just enjoy your surroundings from castles in the countryside to all the hustle and bustle of the cities.  These are my favorite elements of Great Britain.
