I want to define Youth as a consecutive of challenging. When I was young, I believed it it true passion when I saw the passions and efforts of fish dealers, bus drivers. And the life of the parents who always do their best. Although, I was born in small Island of Jeju in South Korea, my challenging mind and effort made me get into the Sungkyunkwan University. However, I don't want to satisfy now but want to challenge more and want to study in the United States has a favorable academic environment ranging from research facilities to curriculum in chemistry. In the other hand, I always dreamed of what it would be like, I want to know how american students study and I want to test my ability and competitiveness with student in those people in America. To get the most out of this chance. I've decided to study abroad in university of texas at Dallas as a dual degree program student. I have a couple of plans in Dallas. First, If I have a chance to study in the United States, above all things. I would like to study my major hard and find out what field I should pursue for the future in the U.S or Korea. Now, it is unclear what I intend either to obtain employment at the bachelor's level in the chemical industry or to go on to graduate school. Thus, I want to make sure while studying at UTD.
In the case that I have ard time keeping up with the courses, many beneficial supports of the university can help me a lot. I heard that UT Dallas offers students the close-knit community of a small university with excellent student-faculty ratios of 21:1, which means I have motivated and knowledgeable advisers to give me useful advice whenever I need some help, not to mention that dedicated professors as well. On top of that, there is a useful system for international students called IAP, International Academic Programs. IAP provides considerable amount of activities in which the students can easily participate such as English tutoring, cultural discussion, and so on. I will actively take part in such activities so as to make my experience of studying abroad more colorful.
Secondly, I intend to participate in dual degree program because I want to experience many different cultures and widen my social relationships. I know it sounds somewhat hackneyed but this is another important point In Korea there is a limited opportunity to communicate with people of different culture. If I join this program, I will be provided with more chances to learn about their cultures, thoughts, the way of life by sharing with them. This will help me grow some kind of global sensitivity, which will probably support me in my future career. Not only that, with abroad social activity. I will be an open-minded person who can easily get along with diverse people who come form different cultures. In my thought, aboard student is like a member of national team. I mean, is the face of own nation. Our behavior and sense of responsibility could make people feel different way either good or bad. Thus, I will try to inform other people about Korea, such as the excellence of human resources and the kindness and generosity of Korea. In short, as I am not a young age and I am stand at very important way. Thus I agonized a lot. As a result, this program is one of the best opportunity in my life.
