Contact any state's Office of Emergency Management and find out what mitigation programs are currently offered. Are they all federally funded, or are there programs run by the state or some other entity? Find out if the local government participates in any of these programs, or if they offer any additional programs funded by other sources. Do you believe your community is taking advantage of every possible mitigation program, or do you feel more could be done with what is currently offered?
