Who am I? What am I called to do? These are questions that many adolescences think about. At this stage they are trying to find themselves. Many do not want to be in their parents shadows or even their other siblings shadow they want to find themselves and who they are meant to be. Erik Erikson stated that "life's firth psychosocial crisis is identity versus role confusion, with the complexities of finding one's own identity being the primary task of adolescence,"( Berger, p. 434)  He also stated that " his crisis is resolved with identity achievement; after adolescents reconsider the goals and values of their parents and culture , they accept some and discard others, discerning their own unique self". (Berger, p. 434)

Many adolescents today are so caught up on what others are saying and doing in my opinion. They want to be with the end crowd and follow others instead of separating themselves and being different. I see so much "copy cating" going on today. When I was at that stage I wanted to find out who I was, I knew that I was different but I was unsure how different. To me those who know God as their personal Savior approach life differently. Many are trying to figure out who God wants them to be and exactly what their mission in life is. That was what I was focused on and as I matured I wanted to know what ministry did God call me to do. This was my most challenging step and it took me a very long time but I finally found out what it was and it was life changing.

Guidance is the key for the youth of today. They have to learn things on their own yes, but if adults could help them make better choices then I believe that there would be fewer in jail and more doing positive things. Spread the Word of God wherever you go!
