REACTION PAPER INSTRUCTIONS
You will write a personal reaction paper based on an aspect of the material that was researched for the annotated bibliography. The purpose of this assignment is for you to reflect and write about a research topic in the field of education that you have researched over the last few weeks.
Choose at least two articles from your research to reflect on and include the following:
1. Title Page - Title page should reflect APA formatting, including running head, page numbers, paper title, author's name, and institution affiliation.
2. Abstract - A one-paragraph summary (between 150-250 words) that contains the main points of your paper. This abstract page follows the title page. Use this paragraph as an overview for your reader to connect to and understand the importance of your topic in the field of education. This paragraph should just be an overview to prepare the reader for your more in-depth reaction to the articles. The abstract should not contain citations or mention of the group project directly.
3. Summary - Summarize the material that you have researched. What are you reacting to? The following items should be evident in your summary:
• Article reference information (Author, title, etc.): include direct citation within the first sentence of the summary.
• The author's purpose or motivation (thesis statements)
• Main ideas of the articles
4. Critique - Critically analyze the material that you have researched. What are the strengths or weaknesses of these articles? Explain. Remember, you are critiquing the actual article, not the topic.
5. Your reaction - Provide your personal reaction to the paper.
6. Application - Explain how the articles relate or could relate to your experience, or future experience.
Format - Your paper should be formatted according to these guidelines:
• 12 pt. Times New Roman font
• Double-space the whole document
• 1'' margins on the whole document
• Third person writing style should be used
• Quotations and paraphrases should be included as in-text citations for effectively supporting the relevant sources
• Your paper should consist of a minimum of 700-850 words (in addition to the 150-250 word abstract)
