INSTRUCTIONS:

FourFiftyOne Publishing's in-house marketing department will handle the promotion of "Dumpster Fire" and its author, Guy Montag. Your job is to develop public relations materials to promote the novel and its author. (Additional details can be found in the FS17 Scenario Brief.) We have learned that Guy Montag's new novel "Dumpster Fire" will be published by leading book-publisher, FourFiftyOne Publishing.

Your task for TNR1 worksheet TNR1 project is to develop a news release to announce 1) the publishing of "Dumpster Fire," and its release date of Dec. 12, 2017 2) introduce emerging author, Guy Montag.

While in the throes of the revision and approval process for the release, an anonymous source leaked a bombshell story to the news media: Guy Montag is actually a pen name for L.M. Bowling, wildly popular young adult fiction author.

Your task for the TNR Rewrite is to further revise your TNR1 to address the scandal and continue promotion of the new book. You must draft new quotes fromFaber andMontag (two quotes total) to reflect the changing news story. Quotes are used to relay the human elements, emotions and opinionated material of a story. Quotes are stand-alone paragraphs and never appear back-to-back in news releases. Your new quotes should be used to further develop your news story.

Your news release must reflect the format and style elements described in your textbook and discussed in class.

o Remember the inverted pyramid. (Most important information comes first - 5Ws)
o Remember that you can invent quotes for your speakers. In this case, you have no choice.
o Remember who your target audience is.
o Remember the news voice and attribution.

Clarisse McClellan serves as the contact person (See the scenario brief for her contact information). Use your final version's due date as the release date.

This assignment includes fictional information.
