Watch the entire Stanford Prison Experiment on Netflix Streaming. Once you have watched the entire film, analyze carefully how this argument is put together. Using Chapters 8 and 9 in the Wilhoit text, compose a rhetorical analysis of the argument presented in the documentary on solitary confinement.

Some elements you might consider for your analysis:

Claim, reasons, evidence, logos, pathos, ethos, logical fallacies, color (used in video), filming techniques, the scenes presented in the documentary, sound, images, etc.

Important Information:

*This is a paper that will largely be composed IN CLASS. However, you will most likely need to meet with your partner to pull everything together.

*You may write the essay with a partner or, if you prefer, by yourself

*No outside sources will be accepted other than the film

* Length: 4 pages, works cited will be pg 5

Helpful Tips:

*Be sure that you provide ample examples to prove your points. If you are saying pathos is used, then pull very specific moments in the video that absolutely show pathos. Describe them to the reader.

*This type of paper can become very choppy. Pay attention to your transitions between paragraphs and between sentences.

*Be sure to use argumentative paragraph structure with strong arguable topic sentences.

6. In prison, prisoners lose their ability to judge right or wrong and obey the instructions of the prison guards blindly.
