• (Do they have a name in addition to their federal listed?)
• Where are they located?
• Was the community relocated?
• Do they have a reservation?
• Include general statistics, if you can locate them:
• For example: How many enrolled members?
• Do they have a functioning tribal government system?
• Are they a gaming tribe?
• Do they have a casino?
• If not, do they other economic development opportunities?
• Language (before European contact) ?
• Other information you can include, as you do research:
• Popular creation story?
• Historic social activities
• Family structure (Matrilineal/patrilineal)
• Historically, what was their main nutrition (plants, animal, etc.)?
• What was their historical lodging?
• Nomadic, sedentary?
• How was this community impacted by the Mission System?
• Cultural/Language revitalization efforts
• Do they have a museum, heritage center, etc.?
• Are they tribally specific social service programs?
• Tribal TANF, ICWA, etc.
• Social Activities? Do they have a pow wows, heritage days, etc.?

This list is not comprehensive of the type of information you can include in your report, but the basics to get you started. As you research this community, consider how this community functioned, interacted with their region and other tribes? This is an opportunity for you to get to know a local indigenous community. You can use Reference books, websites, magazines, journals, etc. Ask yourself: Who, what, where, when, how.
