Length: 2-3 typed pages/double-spaced.

In this essay you will be explaining a personal memory and then reflecting on how it, in some way, changed you. When writing a piece such as this, it is important to explain your attitudes and beliefs before the event, the event itself, and how it has changed your beliefs or attitudes.

The successful essay will include:

1) A clear and concise thesis statement that tells readers the point or purpose of the paper.
2) Sufficient details about before the event, the event itself and after the event or its result. (Content)
3) A clear sense of how the event has changed you in some way. (Ideas/reason and logic)
4) A clear organization of thoughts and events. (Structure)
5) Relatively few grammatical and spelling errors.

Format:

1) The first page should have your name, instructors name, class, and date (basic MLA format).
2) Have an original title for your paper.
3) Include page numbers.
4) All papers should be typed in a 12 point font, times new roman, and double spaced with 1 inch margins.
