Escher style tessellation:

Choose any polygon that tessellates.

problem 1: Alter the polygon extensively, using one or more of the techniques, to create an Escher style living creature that will tessellate the plane.

problem 2: Show each step in detail, with clearly labelled diagrams. Your final altered shape should show a reasonable degree of complexity.

problem 3: Create the final tessellation on an A4 or A3 page. Cover enough area to demonstrate how your shape would tessellate an infinite plane. Use suitable colour and drawing detail to enhance your creature and create an aesthetically pleasing tessellation. Your final tessellation can be constructed ‘by hand’ or electronically.
