After viewing the following TED Talk, Sherry Turkle, Connected but alone, https://www.ted.com/talks/sherry_turkle_alone_together?language=en,

Answer the following questions:

Can you be alone? Be honest! How long could you go without your phone, TV, the Internet, music, or even a book or magazine before you start to crawl out of your skin? Could you sit in a restaurant and eat by yourself? What emotions do you feel when you are alone? Fear? Anxiety? Loneliness? Peace? Why do you think this is? Why are we so afraid of ourselves and of the present moment? How do you think Technology effected/affected our ability to be alone?

Exercise: Try to place yourself alone and in the present moment for one hour (thirty minutes if you are way too overwhelmed by the experience). That's right! Turn off the TV, iPad, Telephone, music and be by yourself for at least thirty minutes! While enjoying your company, try to visualize your ideal life, your goals, and your vision of who you truly are, right here, right now, and who you would like to become. Make this visualization about YOU and only YOU, not other people! See yourself, with yourself and no one else. Could you do it? Could you go thirty minutes alone and without thinking of other people? If so: How did it feel? If not: What thoughts "happened to you" while you were trying to focus on yourself? Why do you think you had those thoughts? Did your Ego (Pain Body) try to bother you?Did you enjoy the experience or not?

After you have attempted or completed this exercise, write down any thoughts that came to mind. For instance, what did you see (visualize), feel, or hear yourself (or your Ego) saying.
