African American Personality Reaction Paper :
For reaction paper #2, you will choose an article on African/Black Psychology in any Black Studies journal, and react to what the author is discussing (similar to your previous paper).
Some of your options include: The Journal of Black Studies;The Western Journal of Black Studies;The Journal of Pan African Studies;The Black Scholar; The International Journal of Africana Studies; Black Women, Gender, and Families; Notes and Records: An International Journal of African and African Diaspora Studies; Journal of African American Studies;Souls: A Critical Journal of Black Politics, Culture and Society, etc.
You CANNOT choose an article from the Special Edition on African/Black Psychology; the Special Edition on Amos Wilson; the Special Edition on Frances Cress Welsing; or the Special Edition on Frantz Fanon in The Journal of Pan African Studies since this will be the topic for your next paper.
Also, you CANNOT choose an article that we have already read or that is listed on your syllabus to read yet this semester.
The purpose of this assignment is for you to gain even more experience and exposure to not only African/Black Psychology as a body of knowledge within Black Studies, but to the many journals in the discipline of Black Studies.
Some questions to keep in mind: How does this article relate to the information we have already covered in class this semester? Why do you think this specific Black Studies journal chose to publish this article on African/Black Psychology? How does this article further African/Black Psychology as a body of knowledge in the discipline and the Black Studies? What are your overall thoughts and feelings about the arguments included in this article?
This paper should be 3-4 pages (at least 900-1200 words) of actual text excluding the cover page and the Works Cited/Bibliography page.
