3 Is the Magna Carta a progressive or a conservative document? Why do you suppose the church condemned it threatening to excommunicate anyone who helped to enforce it?

4 Why was intolerance considered a virtue in the thirteenth century? Who were the targets of intolerance and why? Do you consider tolerance a virtue or a sign of weakness and a vice?
