1. Three gases (8.00 g of methane, CH4, 18.0 g of ethane, C2H6, and an unknown amount of propane,C3H8) were added to the same 10.0 L container. At 23.0 C, the total pressure in the container is 4.30 atm. Calculate the partial pressure of each gas in the container.

2. A gaseous mixture of O2 and N2 contains 34.8 % nitrogen by mass. What is the partial pressure of oxygen in the mixture if the total pressure is 445 mmHg?

3. At 4.00 L, an expandable vessel contains 0.864 mol of oxygen gas. How many liters of oxygen gas must be added at constant temperature and pressure if you need a total of 1.12 mol of oxygen gas in the vessel?

4. When elemental sulfur, S8, is heated with AgF, a gas forms that contains only sulfur and fluorine. The following tests were done to characterize this gaseous product.

* The density of the gas was found to be 0.807g/L at 152 mmHg and 35 C.
* When the gas reacts with water, all the fluorine is converted to aqueous HF.

A 480 mL sample of the dry gas at 125 mmHg and 28 C, when reacted with 80.0 mL of water, yielded a 0.080 M solution of rm HF.

What is the empirical formula for the gas formed?

There's a couple more questions following this one but I can't access them until this first question is answered.

5. Imagine that you have a 6.50 L gas tank and a 2.50 L gas tank. You need to fill one tank with oxygen and the other with acetylene to use in conjunction with your welding torch. If you fill the larger tank with oxygen to a pressure of 155 atm, to what pressure should you fill the acetylene tank to ensure that you run out of each gas at the same time? Assume ideal behavior for all gases.
