1. The introduction needs to introduce both candidates, include a fact from a source, and contain a THESIS STATEMENT that narrows your topic, states your subtopics, and includes a purpose.

BODY PARAGRAPHS must have ONE TOPIC EACH and be based on the SUBTOPICS IN YOUR THESIS STATEMENT. BEGIN with the topic sentence, then get to your first example. QUOTE from a source to support that example, COMMENT about the quoted material, and add a SECOND EXAMPLE and source before ending the paragraph.
