1. Use Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint to develop timeline on computer.
OR
2. Create your own timeline and take a picture, saving file on computer as .jpg or .gif (note, the file can't be larger than 1 MB in size)
3. The timeline should include following events, with the correct dates:
a. Reign of Israelite King David
b. Golden Age of Athens
c. Reign of Caesar Augustus
d. Fall of Rome
4. Choose at least six extra items to include in timeline.
a. You may start your timeline with civilization which began before reign of King David, but note that Creation must not count as one of six dates.
b. Do not write any dates after Fall of Rome.
5. Select events, people or developments which are most important for understanding development of Western Civilization. You may write elements from Biblical history, but ensure that you include them for both their theological significance and their specific contribution to foundations of Western Civilization.
a. For instance: The reign of Israelite King David is important to Western Civilization as the Messiah came to mankind through blood line of David, and this King of the Jews is basis for Christianity, a formative religion in the forming of Western Europe.
6. Ensure timeline has discernible chronological scale pointing out relative passage of time. It must also be visually attractive and professional adequate to be used for presentation in small-group setting.
