The Final Project of this course requires you to identify relationships, constraints, and to build an entity model for your proposed database. Each week's course assignments allow the chance to get feedback from your peer's as you progress through the sections of the Final Project.

Conceptual, logical and physical model or ERD are three different ways of modeling data in a domain. The Week 2 Instructor Guidance discusses how business analysts use conceptual and logical models for modeling the data required and produced by the system from a business angle, while the database designer refines the early design to produce the physical model for presenting physical database structure ready for database construction.

For this interactive assignment discussion, you will share and swap knowledge with your instructor and peers on the Structure, Relationships, Constraints, and Entity Model sections of your Final Project. In this post, at minimum, discuss the following with your instructor and peers. Seek their feedback on suggestions to improve your thought direction:

  • Entities become tables in a database. List a minimum of five entities.
  • Attributes become fields in a table. Attributes describe entities (For example, a customer entity could have attributes such as name, address, and telephone number). List a minimum of five attributes for each entity.
  • Define relationships between entities in your database. A relationship describes an association among entities (e.g., one-to-many could be a painter has many paintings; a many-to-many could be an employee may learn many job skills, and each job skill may be learned by many employees; or a one-to-one could be a store managed by a single employee and an employee manages only a single store; etc.).

Your initial post should be a minimum of four hundred words.
