• Describe the hardware interface which allows Alice's standard analog telephone to communicate with VoIP services. Describe how the digital VoIP signal can traverse from Alice house to Bob house, i.e. you need to mention components such as modem, local loop, the ISP's Point of Presence, the PSTN, etc...

• Describe the interaction between Alice and her VoIP service provider, i.e. what Alice will do and what the VoIP service provider will do for Alice to make a VoIP call, what are the steps (i.e. registration, dialing...)

• Describe how Alice's analog voice signal is converted to digital, i.e. what are the hardware's being used?

• Discuss the quality of the Analog/Digital conversion in terms of the resources used (e.g., sampling rate and bit depth in PAM and PCM)

• Provide a detailed diagram with all the stages and components from Alice's end to Bob's end. The diagram should have all the details, with clear annotations about all the components, the stages involved and what type of signal is being transmitted at each stage.

• The readability and credibility of your report. Your report is broken down into concise paragraphs with bullet points being used when describing the features of the components involved.

• A reference section must be provided with clear citations next to the major technical points in your report so the markers know which articles, books, or websites in your reference section you get the information from.
