Consider communication between a sender and receiver. Using a time-space diagram, illustrate reliable transmission of a message consisting of 5 segments using the selective-repeat protocol with N=3. In your illustration include acknowledgments and fixed timeout intervals of your choice.

Assume that segment 2 (as in the 2nd segment transmitted) is lost and that the acknowledgment for segment 4 (as in the 4th segment transmitted) is lost as well.

From the diagram answer the following questions.

Assuming that the first packet transmitted to the receiver has a sequence number of 0, what is the acknowledgment number of the second acknowledgment sent by the receiver?
