Suppose you are working for an insurance company as a business analyst and now your team just had been hired on a new project - building an online insurance claim management system. Below are the details of the case:

First Choice Insurance

First Choice Insurance Company' offers personal health insurance coverage to its clients throughout Canada under three different plans. Different plan has different coverage and costs. Presently, any claim needs to be submitted by sending a paper claim form and the original payment receipt through postal mail. The company wants to ‘go green' by reducing the use of paper claim forms and use e-claims. Thus, the company wants to build an online claim management system.

A client should be able to register an account from the company's website by providing his/her policy number and date of birth. If the information used in the registration request matches with a client's information in the existing system, the system will create an online account. After the account is created, a client should be able to log into his/her account, update his/her detail account information including bank account information, check coverage detail, print paper claim forms, submit e-claims or view past claim information.

E-claims can be made online for the drugs that were prescribed by registered physicians and were bought from pharmacies. In the drug e-claim submission process, the system should show the client account details and allow the client to update information, show terms and conditions, add pharmacy information or select the pharmacy that were added before, add physician information or select the physician that were added before, and enter the detail of the purchased drug information including Drug Identification Numbers (DIN). A single submission can include information for multiple prescribed drugs. Upon approval of a prescribed drug e-claim, the coverage amount is reimbursed directly to the client's bank account. If a claim is rejected, the client is notified through an e-mail.
