Question: Compute analysis of the laminar thermal boundary layer over a flat plate with a pressure gradient based on u∞ =Cxm, t0 = const, and constant properties: Calculate the boundary-layer flow for m = 0.111 and 1.0, and Pr = 0.7, 1.0, and 5.0, and evaluate the concepts of boundary-layer thermal and velocity profile similarity, paying particular attention to the Pr = 1.0 case. Compare the Nusselt number results based on x-Reynolds number with the results in the text. For the m = 1.0 case examine the development of the momentum and thermal boundary layers and discuss the validity of h = const for this case. Examine several consecutive thermal and velocity profiles to evaluate the enthalpy thickness distribution to assess the validity of the energy integral. You can choose how to set up the problem in terms of a suitable choice of initial x Reynolds number, dimensions, and fluid properties (constant). For the initial conditions let the velocity profile be constructed as described in Prob., and obtain the initial temperature profile either if you solve the momentum problem for or by assuming the temperature profile is proportional to the velocity profile. This latter option is quite approximate.

Problem: Computer analysis of the laminar momentum boundary layer over a flat plate with a pressure gradient based on u∞ = Cxm arid constant properties: Calculate the boundary layer flow for m = 0.111 and compare the results with the similarity solution for m = 0.111 and m = 0.111 Evaluate the concept of boundary-layer similarity. Compare the friction coefficient results based on x Reynolds number with the results in the text. Examine several consecutive velocity profiles to evaluate the momentum-thickness distribution to assess the validity of the momentum integral,. Feel free to investigate any other attribute of the boundary layer flow. You can choose how to set up the problem in terms of a suitable choice of initial x Reynolds number, dimensions, and fluid properties (constant). For the initial condition let the velocity profile be constructed from one of several methods.
