Question: Background: ACME Blue Company is a reseller of custom-made t-shirts. The company's main office and distribution center is located in Miami. There are about 30 people working in the main office in management, accounting, design, production, distribution, and manufacturing. There are also 10 sales people working as independent contractors working from home in different cities in Florida. The main office has 3 Windows 2008 Servers and two dozen desktop and laptop computers. One of the servers is used as a file server to keep all the company data (i.e. t-shit designs), and customer personal data including credit card information and other order files.
The company management is concerned about backup of all the data and ability to recover from a Server failure.
Project Objectives:
You have been hired as an expert consultant to create a backup plan for ACME Blue. You are asked to present the management with your backup plan that meets the following requirements:
- All files stored on the "data" volumes of each server must be backed-up at least once per day.
- All the workstations system volumes must be imaged at least once.
- The Windows Servers' system volumes must be imaged at least every week.
- The software selected for the Server backup must provide a mechanism for a complete bare-metal restore.
Deliverable: ACME management is expecting a 1-2 page report from you that addressed the project objective and includes the following:
1. Select a backup application? Explain why you picked it?
2. What backup methodology will you use for each of the backup tasks?
3. How will you deploy the backup software?
4. How will this software improve restore capabilities?
