If the insulated wire is exposed to calm atmospheric air at T∞ = 30°C, determine the temperature at the interface of the wire and the plastic cover in steady operation. Take the surrounding surfaces to be at about the same temperature as the air. Evaluate air properties at a film temperature of 40°C and 1 atm pressure. Is this a good assumption?
